MAN ACCUSED OF POSING AS DOCTOR TO BE RELEASED

KRGV News Channel 5

December 21, 2006, Thursday, 5:00 pm newscast

Male Anchor:

Well there’s new information out today in the case of a man accused of posing as a doctor.

Female Anchor:

Another victim has come forward.

Newschannel 5 reporter Stephanie Stone is live in Olmito where she is live on the phone.

Stephanie Stone:

Arthur Daniel Hayes bond was reduced from 200k to 75k this afternoon.  The D.A.’s office tells us they are disappointed in that bond reduction because another person came forward to file a complaint about an illegal exam.  A bondsman has posted that 75k, now it’s a matter of time before Hayes is released.  We have a number of questions for him; we’d like to know what he thinks about the charges against him, including practicing without a license, Medicaid fraud, theft and sexual assault.  He is running a pediatric clinic in Harlingen and we’re told he has patients there.  The illegal activity allegedly stems from a family practice out of San Benito.  We’ll keep you posted as this situation continues to develop.
